Link Building Stratgies
I sometimes get asked about the confusing area of link building strategy. Who should we link to? Who should be get links from? Should we link to FFA sites? Should we build multiple sites and link them together?
Here’s the Keep It Simple answer to all those questions. If you are doing something with the primary intention of improving search engine rankings, then don’t do it. If you’re doing iy to improve the quality, contenet and usability of your site, then go ahead.
You see, the only way to long term SEO success, avoiding being penalised by the search engines, is to continually improve your content, navigability, and so on. In that way you’re doing what the engines want you to do - give the best possible answer to visitors looking for an answer.
Keep at it, and your site will steadily rise in the rankings because it deserves to do so. And without fear of being removed from the index for 6 months and then having to start again.
And don’t just think about incoming links - make your site more valuable by providing outbound links to relevant sites that might be of use to your visitors. Providing links to Paris Hilton won’t bring relevant traffic and ranking improvements if you are trying to bring more customers to your site that is selling door knobs.
