How to get started in SEO (or “DIY SEO”)

In SEO, like anything else, if you want to amongst the best there is, it won’t happen overnight.


It will take lots of reading - both online and offline - researching the best SEO products to use (here’s some ideas), and most importantly, putting it all into practice.

My children often get upset when they don’t get their school work right first time.


Its frustrating for them.


But as a parent, I know that if they get something wrong, then in learning how to get whatever it is right, they’ll not only learn the best way, they’ll also remember it.


That’s why I’m sort of pleased when they get things wrong - so long as its not everything all of the time of course.

It’s no different for adults. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. All the best employers encourage this as part of a “Learning Organization” environment. and a no-blame culture.


If yours doesn’t, you may be with the wrong employer.

So don’t be afraid to have a go, make some mistakes and learn.
